9.23.09 and 9.26.09 classes

Wednesday (the 23rd) was a solid, challenging class.  The leg cycle was particularly good, and everyone was clearly working hard through the squat jumps and lunge jumps – lots of lactic acid in the glutes, quads and hamstrings…

On Saturday, the rain held off throughout the class, and a light breeze felt great.  Added a couple of new exercises, including some Bulgarian split squats on the bench.  The first cardio block was intense – multiple, successive drills – 3 cycles without a break.  Excellent class.

Oddly enough, this was the first time in 4 months we have had rain during class, and it was awesome. Rain and a light breeze kept us cool as we made it through a challenging cardio and leg strength cycle. This was also one of those rare classes where we were ahead of schedule, so we managed to fit in a few extra stations at then end – including a single-leg med ball back-and-forth toss that woke up the glutes and quads…

9.12.09 Class

Excellent weather – 65 degrees, unlimited visibility, low humidity. We did 100 pushups in the workout, and experimented with some new cardio stations, working in pairs. The paired side-shuffle up and down the court with lay-ups at each end were more challenging than they looked, but it was a fun drill. Overall, a solid effort…
